PostSubject: Lessons on Life   Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:54 pm

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in
summer, and the youngest son in the fall.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen.

The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.
The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise.

The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen.

The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they
had each seen but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your spring,
the beauty of your summer, fulfillment of your fall.

Moral:

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Don't judge life by one difficult season.

Persevere through the difficult patches
and better times are sure to come some time or later

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith -- and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast."
EPHESIANS 2:8-9

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."
ROMANS 8:28

thanks for sharing... napa- recollect tuloy ako sa buhay ko...good thing about me is when im in the winter of my life, i would somehow smile because i always think na ayan paparating na ang maganda...so, somehow din, hindi mo gaanong indain araw-araw ang pangit na ngyayari dahil looking forward ka sa darating..when you observe life, hindi naman kasi puro problema or "winter" season nga...nagpapalit yan na parang cycle...sabi nga sa isang poem (il post later), hindi mo nga alam kelan darating ang end ng "winter" pero maaari ding the moment na you feel na d mo na kaya eh ayan na pala sya...

once in my life, nasadlak ako sa hirap na i experienced living sa lutuan ng kopra sa probinsya dahil kapag wala kang pera, lahat kahit pamilya ko ayaw samin..from kolehiyala ng CEU who lived in a condo, nag haul ako ng kopras gamit kabayo carrying 60kilos ng kopra na 4 trips lng kaya in 1 day dahil sa layo at daming ilog at bundok ang dadaanin...my brother only made 1 trip and quit...i pursued...that time also i can not even afford katol, so i make use of coconut husk as pampaalis ng lamok...masyadong mahaba kung isasalaysay ko pa..anyway, i never cried during those times and im even proud unto this day that i once been there kasi those lessons i learned from that situation i never learned from those private schools ive been...i was in that situation dahil that was the time when i had no strength, pero when i look at it again, strength was what i actually have...after that half year kahirapan, with many obstacles i overcome, spring came...would you believe that i would earn 1000-5000 pesos just by selling? and everything went right again...many years have passed, eto na ako, more confident kasi ive been to the winters of my life and ive overcome them all..more will be coming i know, but just the thought of that experience, hindi na ako takot sa buhay...if one can live and survive 1 winter in his/her life, then he/she can survive in more winters...and it will never be winters all the time...i believe in that...

(quote ko po para maging related tong poem ng fren ko)

when things go wrong as they sometimes will,
when the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
when the funds are low and the debts are high,
and you want to smile, but you have to sigh.

when cares is pressing you down a bit,
rest if you must, but don't you quit.
life is a queer with its twists and turns.
as everyone of us sometimes learns.
and many a failure turns about
when she might have won had she stuck it out.
don't give up though the pace seems low--
you may succeed with another blow!

success is a failure inside out--
the silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
and you never can tell just how close you are,
it may be near when it seems so far.
so stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
it's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

i was touched reading above's lesson in life... life is a like a circle we may tend to go up and go down...

@louvette thanks for sharing your experience....

as for me, in my opinion nor in my experiences wala naman tayong pinag kaiba eh...lahat tayo we encounter same struggles and trials in life but in a different way but the lessons that He want to emphasize on us is the same... just like sis louve... we can grow and be strong due to our experiences...

as long as we breathe, there is life and there are a lot of lessons we should learned from being alive... (hmmmm medyo broad ah)
